Burbank, Calif.  (January 26, 2014) – A never-before-heard Lana Del Rey rendition of “Once Upon a Dream” was unveiled as part of a 90-second sneak peek of Disney’s “Maleficent” during the 56^th Annual Grammy Awards® on Sunday, January 26. “Maleficent” releases in U.S. theaters on May 30, 2014.

Award-winning, American singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey has recorded a unique reimagining of the renowned fairy-tale tune from Disney’s classic animated film “Sleeping Beauty,” which will feature in the end credits of the upcoming Disney film.  

Lana Del Rey’s “Once Upon a Dream” is free for a limited time, only on Google Play, Google’s online store offering digital music, movies, books, games and more. The song was made available as a free download today and will be available exclusively on Google Play through Monday, February 3^rd [http://smarturl.it/ldrgps1]. 

“Maleficent” explores the untold story of Disney’s most iconic villain from the classic “Sleeping Beauty" and the elements of her betrayal that ultimately turn her pure heart to stone. Driven by revenge and a fierce desire to protect the moors over which she presides, Maleficent cruelly places an irrevocable curse upon the human king’s newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Aurora is caught in the middle of the seething conflict between the forest kingdom she has grown to love and the human kingdom that holds her legacy. Maleficent realizes that Aurora may hold the key to peace in the land and is forced to take drastic actions that will change both worlds forever. 

   

The film stars Angelina Jolie as Maleficent, Sharlto Copley, Elle Fanning, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple and Lesley Manville.

“Maleficent” is produced by Joe Roth and directed by Robert Stromberg, with Angelina Jolie, Don Hahn, Palak Patel, Matt Smith and Sarah Bradshaw serving as executive producers. Linda Woolverton wrote the screenplay. “Maleficent” opens in theaters on May 30, 2014.

El artista latino Vyal Reyes nos habla sobre los tres murales que creó inspirados en la película I, FRANKENSTEIN llamados EL BIEN, El MAL y El INMORTAL

Durante los pasados días, Vyal Reyes pintó tres murales en diferentes localizaciones de Los Ángeles inspirados en la película I, FRANKENSTEIN.  Cada mural está basado en un personaje de la película, los cuales son EL BIEN, EL MAL Y EL INMORTAL.

Cuando se le preguntóa Vyal como se inspiró para plasmar en los murales, a estos personajes de la película I, Frankenstein, él nos dijo que él siempre ha estado fascinado por las películas de horror y de monstruos desde que era un niño y Frankenstein para él siempre ha sido un personaje “cool”, porque fue incomprendido.  So cuando el estudio le preguntósi quería hacer murales basados en la película, de I FRANKENSTEIN en diferentes ciudades de la comunidad hispana en Los Ángeles, el por supuesto no podía decir que no.

“El estudio me pidió que por favor viera el tráiler de la película y ver diferentes imágenes de la película y basado en eso, ellos pidieron diferentes estilos, pero no querían que los murales fueran copias exactas de los personajes, so ellos me dieron la libertad de crear los personajes como yo quisiera. EL BIEN que son las gárgolas, EL INMORTAL, que es Frankenstein y EL MAL que son los demonios.” explico Vyal

Estos murales pueden ser vistos en tres diferentes partes de la ciudad de Los Ángeles.  El mural de “EL BIEN” se encuentra ubicado en  el este de Los Ángeles.  “EL INMORTAL” se encuentra ubicado en Boyle Heights.  Y “EL MAL” se encuentra ubicado en Eagle Rock.

Yo tuve la gran oportunidad de ver el mural de “EL MAL” y para mí fue impresionante e impactante por los colores utilizados por Vyal para dibujar este mural. Y es por esto que le pregunte a él si ese fue el impacto o la intención que quería obtener de los espectadores.

“Yo quería que hubiera un cierto balance una vez el producto final fuera revelado.  Viendo las imágenes de la película como referencia, pude ver la repetición de un color que domina en la película durante ciertas escenas y yo seguí esos colores dominantes y resultaron extraordinarios una vez los murales fueron terminados.  Es bien difícil de enseñar que tan vivo los colores de pintura con spray pueden ser en el “sketch” inicial.   La mayor parte del tiempo, el producto terminado es siempre mejor que el “sketch” como se supone que debe ser” explico Vyal.
